Kate Gifford, Co-Founder and Director, Myopia Profile.

Dr Kate Gifford is an internationally renowned clinician-scientist optometrist, Visiting Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and co-founder of Myopia Profile, the world-leading educational platform for childhood myopia management. Kate holds a PhD in contact lenses and binocular vision in myopia, four professional fellowships, 100+ publications and has given over 300 lectures internationally. She was the youngest ever President and Chair of Optometry Australia, and has been Chair of the International Myopia Institute Clinical Management Guidelines committee since 2017. Kate has won multiple honours including QUT Young Alumnus of the Year, British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) President’s Award for Excellence and the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) Rising Star Award. After running her paediatric, contact lens and myopia practice in the Brisbane CBD for 13 years, since 2020 Kate now works full-time on peer education through Myopia Profile.

Jagrut Lallu, Director, Rose Optometry

Jagrut Lallu is an optometrist and owner of Rose Optometry – Home of the Rose K Lens – in Hamilton, New Zealand, where he has practised since graduating with Honours from the University of Auckland in 2009. He specialises in irregular cornea, keratoconus, and orthokeratology, and established New Zealand's first evidence-based myopia control clinic. He holds a Master's degree with Honours in speciality contact lenses and orthokeratology (University of Auckland, 2017) and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Deakin School of Optometry, publishing on orthokeratology, dry eye, red light therapy, and machine learning. In 2023 he founded the New Zealand Eye Research Centre in Hamilton, focused on clinical trials. He serves as a myopia ambassador for both the World Council of Optometry (Asia Pacific) and the International Myopia Institute, and in 2026 became one of the first optometrists appointed to the board of the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

Joe Tanner, Head of Professional Affairs, CooperVision

Joe is an optometrist who has worked in the contact lens industry in educational and commercial roles in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. He has given presentations and workshops on contact lens topics internationally as well as owning businesses involved in contact lens distribution and optometry. A former clinical supervisor at the University of Auckland and QUT, he is also a contributing author to the textbook Contact Lens Practice by Nathan Efron. Joe is a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association and is currently Head of Professional Affairs for CooperVision.
